Technical Programme Manager

Role

Reporting to a Technical Team Leader, the Technical Programme Manager delivers results by monitoring the performance of his/her programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the work programmes of different technical committees in specific sector(s)
  • Act as the primary interface between technical committees and ISO/CS, including reporting key issues, preparing briefings, and ensuring ISO processes and policies are followed and correctly applied 
  • Develop sector knowledge for the allocated portfolio, validate business cases for proposals of new work, and proactively lead strategic initiatives in conjunction with other ISO/CS units, other relevant committees or task forces
  • Support committee leaders in optimizing participationof relevant organizations in ISO activities (through leveraging existing liaison relationships and supporting activities led by ISO/CS Strategic Partnerships and Sustainability units)
  • Represent ISO at selected meetings and events 
  • Supporting technical policy development by proposing improvements and updates to the ISO/IEC Directives
  • Contributing to the development and deployment of relevant ISO/CS training programmes (elearning modules, virtual and face-to-face instructor led training)
  • Producing accurate and concise working documents for ISO governance groups

Other activities related to collaboration with other ISO Central Secretariat units

  • Contribute to marketing and communication activities as requested by the Head of Standards Development and/or the Technical Group Managers 
  • Ensure effective collaboration with the Publishing and Production units 
  • Contribute to activities of different groups established by the TMB or ISO/CS (e.g.: supporting the elaboration of strategies in specific sectors, contributing to internal projects of the organizations, working with partners)  
  • In conjunction with IT Business Analysts, lead the development of ISO/CS tools and applications 
Report to: Technical Team Leader

Qualification and Experience

  • Experience of managing successful projects within a global environment 
  • Fluent in English (with good business writing skills), knowledge of other languages is an asset 
  • Experience in a standardization-related organization is a strong asset 
  • University-level education 
  • IT literate
